An integrated approach is essential to ensure effective control of insect infestations. A combination of prevention, monitoring and - if necessary - targeted treatment is key. All aspect which can influence an insect infestation - for example indoor climate, water infiltration and rising damp - are evaluated.<\/p>

In this approach the infestation can be managed in an economical and safe way, accentuating preserving the whole ecosystem instead of exterminating individual pests.<\/p>

In some cases, a more thorough approach is necessary. We're able to treat both bigger and small objects in our movable treatment chamber. The anoxia treatment can take place in our own workshop or on location.<\/p>\n

During our nitrogen treatment, climate parameters such as temperature and relative humidity are monitored and computer controlled. This way we can ensure the most safe and clean extermination method available.<\/p>\n

Remmen BV is the exclusive distributor of a patented treatment method which uses the insect Spathius exerator to exterminate the common furniture beetle Anobium punctatum and related pests.<\/p>\n

We apply the principle of integrated pest management, with a combination of different insect treatment methods. This approach emphasizes ecology and long-term vision.<\/p>\n

A lot of insect infestations are a symptom of underlying causes. With the care for monuments, these causes are often to be found as problems with moisture or unadvised material use in earlier restorations.<\/p>\n

We search for the causal connection and use our experience as material specialists to optimize problematic situations.<\/p>\n

Physical interventions adjust the objects or construction in order to solve the cause of the infestation. Some recurring examples are the dismantling of an object in order to treat the wall behind, or the fitting of a ventilation system behind wooden paneling. An alternative treatment method can be achieved by warming objects in their core to 55\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

A thermal treatment can be carried out in a static treatment room, with regulated relative humidity to prevent fluctuations. This technique can only be used on detached, movable objects.<\/p>\n

For bigger constructions which can't be disassembled, a local treatment with microwave technology can be chosen.
